How often should I change my heating duct air filters?

Is it all right to simply clean them?How often should I change my heating duct air filters?

Depending on the type of filter, 30 days, to 90 days. The electrostatic filters will last about 90 days between cleanings.How often should I change my heating duct air filters?
Change them whenever they become dirty. Some filters are 1 month filters, some are three month filters, etc., but check them every month or so and change them as needed.



A sure sign that you need to change them more often is a lot of dust on furniature.



Filters are cheap enough that there is no reason to try to clean them. By trying to clean them, you will get the dirt and dust going through them, defeating the purpose of the filter.



That is unless it is some kind of alergy free filter that is suposed to be cleaned instead of replaced.
