Does anybody know how to remove the engine cover in a 2008 VW eos? I need to change the air filter.?

The instructions from vwvortex.com have not been helpful.Does anybody know how to remove the engine cover in a 2008 VW eos? I need to change the air filter.?
When you look at the cover itself, there should be about 4 holes in the cover. Inside those holes are either bolts or screws holding the cover down. Take those out, and the cover should come off easily.

i went to the auto shop today to get an oil change. while changing the oil, the repairman said i had a nail in my tire so he fixed it. does removing the nail in the car cost $15 because that is what he charged me.

also, he said i needed to change my air filter and it was going to cost me $45. i didnt have enough money to change my air filter and i said i will come back. but i had a strange feeling that he was trying to rip me off. $45 to change a filter? how much does it cost? How much does it cost to change an air filter for a 2004 camry?
A basic air filter at Autozone shouldn't run you more than $10. Installing it takes about 5 minutes. If you really have no mechanical skill or knowledge, just pay the money to have it done right and don't risk messing something up by doing it yourself.

If he had to remove the nail and plug the hole you're probably going to need a new tire soon, those quick fix tire repair deals usually don't last long. How much does it cost to change an air filter for a 2004 camry?
You can probably go to the auto parts dealer to buy the air filter and if you ask nicely, they might even come out to the car to put it in and show you how. It's easy and NOT worth $45.

To remove a nail and plug a tire should only be about $10 at most and don't worry about it lasting. A good patch or plug will last the life of the tire and is NOT considered a %26quot;quick fix%26quot; but a standard fix for a flat tire.

What is considered a %26quot;quick fix%26quot; is those Fix-a-Flat crap that comes in a can and you spray it in.How much does it cost to change an air filter for a 2004 camry?
1 The nail removal Should include a plug altho many newer tire designs are self sealing.

2 The air cleaner is charged by an hourly rate with a 1 hour minimum. It's an easy fix, you can do yourself with a screwdriver.

There is a big box on top of the engine with a plastic tube, follow the tube to another box near the front grill or head lite.

Remove the box top and pull out the old filter and put in another (%26lt;$15@ auto store) Put the top on.

How to change air cabin filter in BMW 325 model 1991?

First remove the glove box by unscrewing the screws at the back of the glove box, then remove the retaining straps held in place by the plastic clips.

On the side of the evaporator housing you will see a black plastic cover. Unscrew the screws, I believe there are 4 at top, bottom and 2 sides.

Slide the filter out and install the new one. It should take you no more than 20 minutes or so to complete.

How do you change push mower air filter?

is there any instructions or PDF's on the net on how to change a puch mower air filter. How do you change push mower air filter?
Typically older push mowers used a 'steel housing' for their air cleaner assemblies - mounted with a simple slotted screw to the carb housing - on the right side of the mower ( looking from behind) . Unscrew the slotted screw and the cover comes off exposing the air filter element- usually a foam type - Remove and install replacement ( you can either take old one in or that and motor numbers - stamped into flywheel shroud on top of the motor) .

New ones use part of the plastic shroud or a plastic cover to hold the filter in - a paper type. Typically its held on by a single machine screw , the cover comes off and the filter cartridge is right there - looks like a small automotive filter. Replacement is similar, motor numbers usually on a data plate somewhere on the engine/mower - take old one in.

It should fit into a spot on the housing and reclose the door- tighten bolt. How do you change push mower air filter?
Should be easy to figure out. A lot of them just use a little plastic clip to remove the cover and then you pull the foam, filter out and wash it, let it dry and reinstall it.

You can also go to the manufacturers web site and look up the directions there, they may have an exploded parts diagram that will show you how it is done. How do you change push mower air filter?
All engines are different. It's usually very easy. Most engines the filter is on the outside of the engine, very accessible and in a silver case. Their most likely is one screw that you remove to take the cover off and the filter is inside.

    Easy.

If it's more difficult then that try searching by the mower you have or if you know the engine manufacture and horse power search under that.

For a removable air filter, there is an old rule of thumb. Hold the filter up to the sun light and see if you can see light through it if you can then air can pass thought it as well. The dimmer the light, the more restricted the filter is. Hold a new one up and you will see the difference. Most people change their filters long before they need to be changed. Hope this helps. Do i get my hands greasy with a couple of pals in a garage we don't have (but lets put that aside) or do I go to my usual local car mitsubishi car mechanic with an engine I bought...somewhere (mind you, I live in Croatia) and ask him to change the engine.

The first thing you do is to go and get yourself a service manual. A Clymer manual for this bike only costs $34 + shipping. A service manual will pay for itself the very first time you use it.

A service manual will have detailed step by step instructions on how to service your bike, including servicing the air filters.

With a service manual you will no longer need to depend on strangers on the Internet for your maintenance procedures. You will no longer need to decide if the procedure from these strangers is accurate or just a bunch of B.S. I find it amazing how much B.S. someone will give on Yahoo Answers for a measly 2 points.

So get yourself a service manual and do it right

    Or

Start taking stuff off of your bike. Continue to take stuff off of your bike until you find the air filters. Take more stuff off of your bike until the air filters come out.

Put in new air filters. Start putting stuff back on your bike until you run out of stuff.

How do i change air-con filter at home?

wanted to see a videoHow do i change air-con filter at home?
I don't know where a video would be, but if this is central air try this. On the unit inside the house there should be 2 panels on the front of it. They will usually be lift and pull out to remove them. The bottom one is where the filter usually is, but you normally need the top one out to get the bottom out. You should see the filter when you remove the bottom panel. They are usually a size like 16X25X1. The filter should show it's size on the side. Go to your hardware store, or a Lowes or home depot. You can get a replacement filter there. They have the ones that are like a blue fiberglass filter, I don't recommend those. I usually get the 3M Brand filters. They have a filter efficiency number on the filter. The higher the number, the better the filter. I use 1250 or 1700. You should just be able to slide the old one out, and the new one in. Replace the bottom panel and then the top panel, and make sure the system turns on. There is a switch you will see that one of the panels, usually the bottom, presses against. If the system doesn't turn on check to make sure both panels are on all the way.

My furnace and central air share the same ducts. How often should I change the filter? (I use the 3M Filtrete brand).

The home inspector said once every 3 months, the guy who installed the central air said once a month. How often should I need to change my furnace/central air filter?
The installer was correct. You need to replace the filter every month.

Air conditioning systems are very low pressure systems. That is, the air flow through the various ductwork has a very low driving force. For comparison, when you talk about pressure in a balloon, you are measuring in pounds per square inch.

In a household airconditioning system, you are talking about ounce of water pressure per square inch. This is a very small pressure drop, so dust accumlation on your filter will quickly reduce the flowrate. Two things can happen when the air filter is plugged....

The airflow across the cooling coils will become very low and the air will get very cold, causing water to drop out into the drain system. This can cause your drain system to become overwhelmed and you will get leakage out of the attic AC unit and onto your cieling.

The other thing is, it can overload your AC system and cause premature failure.

depends on how fast they get dirty. check them and see if they are dark and dingy, if so replace them, check them every month to see how fast they get dirty, if they don't look bad then check them again the next month, then you can decide for yourself on how much you need to change them per year. How often should I need to change my furnace/central air filter?
Once a month unless it gets dirty sooner than that, but at least once a month. Especially if you have pets or you smoke in the house. How often should I need to change my furnace/central air filter?
The last guy ALMOST had it right. The interval could be as short as 1 month or as long as 3 months. The only thing i disagree with him on is the 3 pack of whispy filters. They can potential come apart and the fibers can clog deep within the evaporator. I would use the 3m you have, make sure they are the paper pleated ones and plan on changing them on the first of the month. Keeping up with this will insure a long life for your cooling system.

Clean the air filter as needed. After each ride if you ride in dusty conditions. Every couple of weeks on normal conditions. Change the air filter once a year.

You don't need to change jets as any part of routine maintenance. You only change the jets if you make engine modifications like aftermarket exhaust or internal engine modifications. How often should i change the air filter, oil, and jets on a wr450f?
Adam, if you buy one, invest in a manual. So many people ask technical questions about their bikes that can be found in a manual.

It will provide you with all the relevent details ie; servicing intervals, fault finding etc!

Like the other answers, if you are punishing it on the dirt. Change your clean your air filter.

Oil wise, I wouldn't do it after every. I would say every 500kms if you have ridden it hard and your oil has darkened.

This is an indication of your oil becoming dirty, but by no means bad. Change your filter as well! How often should i change the air filter, oil, and jets on a wr450f?
You should change your oil after every ride right after you wash the bike and get ready to put it away if you want it to last. You need to clean your air filter after every ride also. It doesnt matter how tall you are it is if you can handle the power. Why not buy a YZF 450 or a CRF 450 they are the best bikes around and give the least amount of problems and lastHow often should i change the air filter, oil, and jets on a wr450f?
In dusty conditions, you should clean the air filter after each ride. Oil and oil filter every three months or if it smells burnt. Carburetor jets should not be a problem if you store the bike properly.

I'm assuming you have no experience from the question. A 450 is a whole lot of bike for a beginner. I would shop in the 200-250cc range. Make sure you can reach the ground while sitting in the saddle.

Save yourself frustration by buying a shop manual.

Every when do you need to change the air filter on the bike?

Also they tell me bikes have reserve tank (gas) how do I access that? ZX6R 2007

Every when do you need to change the air filter on the bike?
In my opinion the air filter is the most under-rated piece of kit on your bike. If your racing (and this is the racing section.) You should either change or clean your filter every race. the simple fact is, to burn fuel you need air (clean air). I have seen people strip a bike down to see why its not running right when all that was required was to replace the air filter.

as for the reserve. its usually just a case of turning the fuel tap round. your better not using the reserve as it just draws the gunk and rubbish from your fuel tank into the system. keep the bike topped up instead.Every when do you need to change the air filter on the bike?
Depends on what conditions you are riding in. If it is extremely dusty all the time then I would say check it every 3 weeks or so. Just check it periodically and if you see that it is dirty, clean it (if you have a re-usable filter) and if you do clean it, remember to add the filter oil onto it (if required). As far as the reserve goes, what you are looking for is a device called a %26quot;petcock%26quot; and I am not certain where they are on a 07 ninja, look for a dial that says %26quot;on, off, res%26quot; on it. It should be located somewhere near your gas tank.

that all depends on how much it's used. if you race, you should change, (the spark plug at least) every 4 races or so. if you don't, use it much i'd say about every two and a half months. i'm sure you can figure out the median to those two ends.

How do you take the engine cover off of a 2007 Jetta? I need to change the air filter with a K&N, but can't.

I don't want to break the cover trying to get it off. I also don't want to have to take it to the dealership.

I think it just pops off, but I don't want to do that unless I know for sure. How do you take the engine cover off of a 2007 Jetta? I need to change the air filter with a K%26amp;N, but can%26039;t.
the plastic cover just pulls up. do not put the k%26amp;n filter in it, until its out of warranty. unless you like to keep buying mass air flow meters that the k%26amp;n filters can and will damage. but, hey... do what you want. How do you take the engine cover off of a 2007 Jetta? K%26amp;N's let too many dirt particles through. Put it back in the box and return it to the vendor. You will soon find the MAF dirty. How do you take the engine cover off of a 2007 Jetta? I need to change the air filter with a K%26amp;N, but can%26039;t.

    Why change an air filter?

How often do you need to change the filter, and what does changing it really do?Why change an air filter?
Good question! It's the same with any air filter. If the air flow through the filter decreases below the minimum requirement for air flow, you need to replace the filter. Some GM vehicles actually had an indicator to show you when you needed to replace the filter. If your going to keep your vehicle for 10 years or more, the smartest solution is to buy a K%26amp;N or Fram washable air filter and simply wash it every 20,000 miles or so. Otherwise, replace your paper element filter at 20,000 miles and be done with it under normal driving conditions. Why change an air filter?
For a car: it increases gas millage and less crap comes in through your vents. I think they can be changed every year..It will tell you on a new box.Why change an air filter?
I think it depends on your vehicle how often, but maybe you get better gas mileage. Why change an air filter?
It keeps the dirt you see all over the filter... from getting inside your engine... you should replace the air filter... oh... about every third oil change, or once a year along with your fuel filter.

Changing it will help the car burn cleaner... you will burn less fuel... and assists the emissions controls to operate correctly.

    - Good Luck! Why change an air filter?
You are supose to change every 12-15000 miles. It filters out harmfuldirt from ruining your motor. If you dont change it it will decrease your gas mileage by not allowing enough air to enter the motor Which will choke the motor , decrease performance, and use more fuel. Hope this helps. Why change an air filter?
Well for any machine or car ...It hepls the car or machine to breath properly..which all around hepls. When an air filter gets clogged or dirty..it makes the car or machine work harder takes alot of energy to push trough a dirty filter...thats why we change them.....besides clean is better than dirty all the way around. Why change an air filter?
A car needs 3 things in order to run. Air, fuel ,and spark. Eliminate any of these and the car will not run. The air coming into the engine is reduced by a dirty filter . If it were totally clogged up the car would not run at all. Partly clogged up by dirt and it will run poorly and use more gas. I change mine every 2 years and find thats sufficient. It is an easy do it yourself job if so inclined and the filter alone is generaly around $10 .Why change an air filter?
air filters filter air. not rocket scince, but if it is full of dirt, which it will be if you don't wash it or replace it, you get less air in with the petrol so performance is down and fuel usage is up.

These things are cheap so if in doubt change it. Check that it is not a washable one, some are. Wash in soapy water, not in the washing machine shake all of the water out leave to dry then put it back. BingoWhy change an air filter?
I have K%26amp;N filters in all my vehicles... even my lawn mower. They are washable, reusable and highly efficiant. And they avoid the constant waste filling up the landfills. I think they are high performance as well. You can wash them with some mild soap and rinse them off, let em dry in the sun and pop em right back in.

I usually service them once a year on my cars and my Harley.

And 2-4 times a season on my lawnmower because of the extra dusty conditions that occur during the dryer part of the mowing season..

Cleaning and oiling kits are available just for K%26amp;N filters but oil is really only necessary in dusty conditions. Why change an air filter?
An air filter is a device which removes solid particulates such as dust, pollen, mold, and bacteria from air. Air filters are used in application where air quality is important, notably in building ventilation systems and in engines, such as internal combustion engines, gas compressors, diving air compressors, gas turbines and others.

Replacing it necessary for the engine to run. If the filter is clogged, the engine will starve without air.Why change an air filter?
if you dont change it, then your engine cant breathe. it will use more gas and if it gets too dirty, it will stall the car and also suck dirt into your injectors. you can have a pretty good idea if it needs changing, just by looking at it, if it looks dirty, change it, if it looks pretty clean, you can go a little bit longer before it need changing. Why change an air filter?
lets the engine breathe and you will get better gas mileage with a new filter, you should change it once a year at least. Why change an air filter?
cuz filters get dirty and blocked off and when that happens they cant filter any thing any more so u need to get a new cleen one

How to change an air filter in a 2002 Honda Civic?

How to actually do it on this car, not just general information. How to change an air filter in a 2002 Honda Civic?
If you're talking about the filter for the intake, it's just a few screws screwing it on right above the engine cover. It's a little black box with horizontal grooves going across it. You can remove it with a philips or i think a 8mm hex screw. The cover should lift right up with little effort... if it doesn't, don't force it and check that you've removed all the screws.

take out the old filter and drop a new one in and retighten the cover.

be careful not to re-tighten these bolts too tight though because you can crack the plastic on the filter cover! How to change an air filter in a 2002 Honda Civic?

  • How do i change the air filter on my central air unit that is outside?

it's an older model mobile home and i believe there has to be a filter that has to be changed somewhere but have no idea where to beginHow do i change the air filter on my central air unit that is outside?
The outdoor unit doesn't have an air filter. Look inside. There should be a panel inside that has the indoor unit behind it. It may be located somewhere near the water heater. You do not need to call a repairman to change the filter. How do i change the air filter on my central air unit that is outside?
call a plumber that specialises in cooling and heating. How do i change the air filter on my central air unit that is outside?
The filter would not be on the heat exchanger outside. It would be located at the air intake to the furnace. Follow the cold air return to the point where it joins the furnace, your filter should be inserted into the ductwork at that point. How do i change the air filter on my central air unit that is outside?
You should call an a/c guy who can also clean the outside unit. Get references for an a/c guy from your friends or neighbors. He/she should be able to find the filter. How do i change the air filter on my central air unit that is outside?
I have one built in 84 with the compressor outside, but inside is the %26quot;return%26quot; and that's what gets a filter. In my case it's 24 x 24 square.

    Rev. Steven

Certainly I'm not assuming you haven't checked, but I'd be surprised to know there's a filter outdoors, unless it's a window unit ACHow do i change the air filter on my central air unit that is outside?
You have to change it from the outside, unless it is inside. How do i change the air filter on my central air unit that is outside?
There is no filter on the outside part of air-conditioners. The air filters are inside and filter the air as it recirculates within the mobile home. If it is a roof mount unit like on a motor home, remove the cover/grill on the ceiling and the filter will be exposed. If it is not a roof mount the filter will be somewhere in the return air duct usually close to the recirculating fan, possibly behind a louver on the wall or inside the fan unit itself.

Good Luck! How do i change the air filter on my central air unit that is outside?
the air filter is inside in the large return (big vent on ceiling) open it up and you will see it just remove it and stick the new one in easy to do.How do i change the air filter on my central air unit that is outside?
There is no filter on the outside condenser unit, but it does need cleaning occasionally. You can obtain a coil cleaner at some (NOT ALL) hardwares. It comes in a spray bottle with all the directions you need. This is one of the most common a/c problems and you can handle it yourself. How do i change the air filter on my central air unit that is outside?
There is not 1 correct answer to your problem thus far. Look around inside your mobile home and find the return air duct opening, could have more than one but not likely. That would probably be the largest grill in the system. You might find the filter behind this grill,if not follow the the return air duct all the way back to the furnace, the filter will be somewhere in this duct. Most likely places to find filter would be behind before mentioned grill, in furnace or in duct line. Yes, filter can be outside if you have a package unit ( A/C and furnace in same cabinet).

Changing air filter with aftermarket filter damage engine and how? if it doesnt dn how can u replace it?

i have a toyota echo 2003, i saw my airfilter bow and it has plugs, and sensors, if i change to a K%26amp;N filter where do i plug da original plug sensors?Changing air filter with aftermarket filter damage engine and how? if it doesnt dn how can u replace it?
K%26amp;N air filters need to be cleaned and re-oiled on a routine basis. If you incorrectly apply the oil to the filter and don't follow all the directions just right, you risk contaminating the MAF sensor with filter oil. Sometime you can clean the MAF, sometimes it's destroyed by the oil. Those MAF sensors are expensive.

I ask you is it really worth the trouble to fiddle with this? Just stick with a paper element and drive your car.Changing air filter with aftermarket filter damage engine and how? if it doesnt dn how can u replace it?
If you live in a place with little dust you can probably get away with a K%26amp;N filter. They have less restriction because they don't filter as well as proper filters do.

Here in dusty Arizona K%26amp;N filters earn sneers from most enthusiasts. A friend put a replacement conventional filter in his Volvo and the valves started leaking within a year - the filter had a tear in it and the sand chewed his valves up. The filter manufacturer paid for the repair.

I never saw the attraction of K%26amp;N filters. The reduction in restriction is insignificant in normal use, and the power difference is only measurable at full power.Changing air filter with aftermarket filter damage engine and how? if it doesnt dn how can u replace it?
The K%26amp;N air filter needed for your car is a 33-2211. It is a drop-in filter meaning you just put it in where the old one was. The plug sensors you mention is most likely the mass air flow sensor. It is not directly connected to the filter but to the air box or arm leading to the airbox. A K%26amp;N filter will not damage your car. In fact, even a dirty K%26amp;N filter performs better than most new plain filters.

By the way, you would use the K%26amp;N oil filter HP-1003.Changing air filter with aftermarket filter damage engine and how? if it doesnt dn how can u replace it?

you are in luck!!!! i have owned many ford rangers including a 1999 with the 3.0 liter. it was a good truck until my wife wreaked it!! damn, damn, damn!! anyway the clamps you are talking about will not break, unless you try to use a screw-driver to pry them! first, flip the lever up ands push down on the air box at the same time. the clamp hook should become loose from the bottom of the air box!! now while your at it i suggest buying a K%26amp;N replacement filter. they last forever and they give you more power and better gas mileage. yes they do cost more, but will pay for themselves in months!!!!!!

IF you leave on a dusty road, it will have to be changed more often than if you drive on the highway only.

How long would it take to change the air filter on a BMW?

It says on the box 1 hour? It is that hard, I looked in the Haynes manual and they five it a difficulty of 1 out of 5. So its meant to be real easy. Just asking before I **** it up.How long would it take to change the air filter on a BMW?
You should be able to change all the service items in under an hour, plugs, fuel filter, oil filer, air filter and oil change! If its just the air filter 15mins max should do it. Just take your time and follow the manual, sure you'll be fine with it mate, next time you need to change one it'll take you about 3 minutes!

Fitting an aftermarket filter wouldnt be in the haynes manual, it only tells you how to replace the existing one. Still shouldnt take an hour though.

You might need to get the car set up again when you replace the standard filter with an induction kit.

How often do you need to change you air filter and fuel filter in you chainsaw ?

I use it the fall and winter alot. How often do you need to change you air filter and fuel filter in you chainsaw ?
A good rule of thumb is to clean the air filter every third tank of gas. When cutting dry pine and ceder, which produces much finer chips and has a dusty bark, you may want to clean the filter more often. The gas filter shouldn't have to cleaned but once a season.I've been logging for sixteen years and found this to be the best method. Also remove the cover plate (where you adjust the chain tension) and clean out around the clutch and oil passages on a regular basis.Don't forget the bar groove where the chain travels,it can plug-up restricting oil from lubricating the bar. I am sorry dont know what they are called. just removed and it had thick layers of gunky dust. OMG tottaly gross. i hope we dont get sick. no wonder my husband and daughter are sneezing all the time.

HOW OFTEN TO CHANGE? WHERE TO GET IT? WHICH ARE BEST?How ofter should i change the air filter for the house?
They are just known as air filters. They keep your coil from getting dirty and it helps stimulated the air flow. Plus it aides in keeping dust down a little bit. Absolutely change it every 30 days. If you do, then you will notice your heat/air unit working more efficiently therefore, keeping your costs down a little more than if you didn't change your filter as you should.

If you have a common size-you can buy them very inexpensively at Walmart-If you have an odd size, try calling a heating and air conditioning company in your area. They usually have all sizes, but they are a little more expensive (even with the regular sizes) as they can't buy them as cheap as the mass market stores. They have all kinds but really as long as you change it like you should, the brand doesn't matter.

Be sure to measure so you have the correct size.

By the way, they also have the washable type of filter. You don't have to buy new ones with it-but to me it's just easier to buy the ones you can just toss out.How ofter should i change the air filter for the house?

It can be a pain due to the AC line running across the firewall. Sometimes it is easier to take the whole air cleaner box off the throttle body, hose clamp and 2 10 mm bolts plus 2 vent hoses.jbpopem is right ,you can snake it out,but may be difficult going in if not careful. Also after you change and drive,if your hear a weird throaty sound you didnt get the bottom of the housing on right. Good luckI have an 03%26039; Impreza (Bug eye type) and was wondering how do I change the air filter ?
You have to remove the bolt on the drivers side of the airbox housing (10mm). Then unsnap the three clips around the airbox and push the rear peice from the top back towards the firewall then pull up. It pops in on the bottom. Ive found you can get the air filter element out without removing the whole back half but its just easier. The rest of the intake ducting pops off.

  • How to change air filter on 2006 06 VW Passat?

First off it's a pain in the backside...2 bloody knuckles after slipping off the housing and hitting a metal component was not fun, so my advice is to wear a pair of gloves just in case.

The air filter is located in the rear of the engine compartment, in the middle of the engine, and IN the huge plastic housing. To get the huge black plastic housing off all you need to do is swiftly lift up on each of the 4 corners. The reason for this is that it's connected by rubber press on fittings that are designed to be taken on and off. Disconnect the air intake hose, the rear air exit hose, and the MAF sensor connector. At that time the whole black plastic piece can be removed and the 10 phillips screws located on the underside have to be undone to get to the air filter element. hope this help, as I didn't see any posts on the internet on this subject. How to change air filter in a 2006 mercedes cls 500?

It's pretty easy. On top of the engine you have the large, black, plastic cover. Remove the 2 air hoses and then pull up on the entire cover. They're held in by snaps so there may be little resistance but don't worry, you won't break it.

With the cover removed, flip over that housing and the pair of filters are accessed on the underside. Just unscrew the covers on either end and and change the filters.

Note: when putting the cover back in place, just align the cover with the snaps and push down. However, make sure you don't pinch and distort the seal between the air filter housing and the MAF sensor. If you do, that can cause the Check Engine Light to come on later on due to unfiltered air entering the very sensitive sensor.

On the ride side of the picture you can see 3 black boxes. The first one is your battery covered in a plastic shroud. The middle one is your air box where your air filter is.

From the image it looks like 2 bolts on the front of it and most likely will be 2 bolts on the back side. If the bolts are the same bolts you already tried then look at the right and left sides of the box. From the image it looks like it has a plastic clip holding it down. Normally just a small flat head screwdriver pushed into these holes will release the catch latch.

How do change an air filter element on an 1974 850cc Norton?

The air filter front plate on this bike has some curious plumbing on the inside which does not allow it to slide away from the air filter. They must be removed as one. The bike is original. Replacing is a nightmare because the air hoses must be seated. I have run out of patience! Some one know. How do change an air filter element on an 1974 850cc Norton?
I own a 74 850, although, as soon as I bought it I changed it to a K%26amp;N dual inlet airfilter, and since have converted to a single Amal carb with a foam sock type filter. However, I did install the stock unit once. I believe most of the difficulty is because the rubber air tubes get stiff with age (just like me). Pull the rubber tubes from the front plate and assemble the airbox. Boil a pan of water and throw the air tubes in for a few minutes this will make them soft and pliable for a short time so you have to work quickly to get them in. I think thats how I did it, but, I must admit its been a number of years.

If you aren't sure, every oil change would be a little more expensive but safer. How often are you suppose to change the air filter?

How often is very subjective; it all depends on your driving conditions. As a general rule of thumb, most manufacturers say to replace it every 15K miles. If you do a lot of stop-and-go driving, or live in a dusty climate, or on a dirt road, you should replace it more often, say at 10K miles.

If I remember correctly there are four snap clips. Two on the side opposite of the tube going to the intake and one on each side perpendicular to it. You need to unclip all the clamps and slightly lift the cover while pushing it back towards the intake tubing.

How do I change the air filter for my air conditioning unit?

This is new for me. I have a central air conditioning unit outside my home. BDP Co. model 561CJ024-B. I know to change my furnace filter, but I want to find out if the central air unit also has a filter. If so how do I replace it. I've looked on line and found info about removing a panel to access the filter, but I'm not seeing one.How do I change the air filter for my air conditioning unit?
If your air conditioner is part of your furnace system, it's your furnace filter that you need to replace. If there isn't one there, you need to measure the opening and put one in.

If your a/c is a unit that is entirely independent from the furnace, you will need to locate its air handler and find the filter there to be replaced.

I searched your model number and couldn't determine which yours is.How do I change the air filter for my air conditioning unit?
Your furnace filter is the same one for your AC filter. The furnace acts as a airhandler doing the AC season and runs the indoor blower motor. The indoor AC coil and The blower motor are kept clean throughout the season with that filter. How do I change the air filter for my air conditioning unit?
It all depends on how thye tied the system in. If it is what we call a stand alone unit and is not tied into the furance. Then yes the unit should have a filter. If it tied into the furance then the furance filter is the one to keep changed. Alot of installers will put a sticker on the installed units just call them if they are a good company they will be glade to help this is just good PR for the company. Good Luck!!!How do I change the air filter for my air conditioning unit?
If you have a furnace your outdoor ac unit will not have a filter. The only time an outdoor unit has a filter is in a package unit. Meaning both the heating and cooling is in the same unit outside.

    Air filter change Landrover Defender?

Does anybody know how to change an air filter in a 1995 defender short wheel base 90 model? She's smoking a bit on gear change or when i drive at low speeds in a high gear [being too lazy to change gear] im hoping its only the filter any ideas?Air filter change Landrover Defender?
Under the bonnet on the drivers side youll find a large black cylinder held with two metal straps,on the end of this cylinder youll see a black wingnut.Undo this and remove the end cap of the cylinder to gain access to the filter.Theres usually a secondary plastic nut that holds the air filter in place, removing this will allow you to remove the filter.Do not wash ,replace with new one.Air filter change Landrover Defender?
Sounds like the Air Filter. Changing it must be pretty simple, locate it in the engine bay, loosen screw, replace filter, re-secure screw.

On older Land Rovers, (Series 1,2,3) the air filter was an oil bath type. If your's is like the one on my Pug 205 diesel, it's a couple of pieces of foam rubber. Remove, wash out in parafin (NEVER petrol!), replace. Job done.

Good Luck!Air filter change Landrover Defender?
It's a paper element filter - DON'T wash it in anything, just get a new one.

It's cylindrical on the defender: Look under the bonnet on the passenger side, the housing is a metal cylinder with a wingnut on the end.

    In the top picture, it's on the right at the front;

It's either a dirty filter, blocked injectors or a generally tired engine.

ThanksHow do you change the air filter for a 2006 Scion tc?
I have a Scion XB of the same year and I would assume they have the same engine. The air filter is the flat waffer type. It is located in the engine compartment on the drivers side. It is located inside a black plastic compartment that has clips holding the lid on. Just unsnap the lid and the filter is inside.

  • How do i change my air conditioner filter on my Allegiance 10?

I have an american standard Allegiance 10 and need to change the filter. first what kind of filter do I need and second how do I change it? the manual says call your local dealer. How do i change my air conditioner filter on my Allegiance 10?
The filter is either located in your furnace OR on the return air side.

    Locate it and buy another.

Allegiance air conditioners do not have seperate filters.

Assuming you have an American Standard furnace look on the return air side (left or right side) and you should see a filter slot. Slide out the old and replace. If the filter is inside the furnace it will be visible after you open the bottom door of the unit.

If you are still confused call a local American Standard Dealer and try to give them the model number of the furnace. It is either located just inside the top of the furnace cabinet or on the side of the furnace. The model number will tell them exactly what you need. How do i change my air conditioner filter on my Allegiance 10?
Take out the old one, go buy one the same size, put it back in the way you took it out.

How often should I change out my air filter on my goped?

I just got a goped recently and I am not to sure on some of the things that I have on the goped. But I am learning ^^. How often should I change the air filter on my goped? And is there anything else that I have to change regularly on my goped? (Anything to do with the motor?) Thanks a lot!How often should I change out my air filter on my goped?
When it looks like a dirty sock, replace it. For the motor, you need to replace the oil periodically - your owner's manual should tell you how often. When you do that, pull the spark plug, too, and clean it. Won't need to replace it, just clean it until 50K miles.

That's if it has oil; I don't really know the brand. If it is all electric you just want to put a few drops of oil in it and keep the contacts clean. Again, your owner's manual should tell you what you need to do. If you don't have one, search for it on-line.How often should I change out my air filter on my goped?

    When to change air filter?

I have a mitsubishi lancer GLX, 2006 model. Kindly let me know when I have to change the air filter, oil filter and engine oil. I mean once in how many thousand kilometers. When to change air filter?
Oil and filter is every 5K, and just take the air filter out every time you change the oil, and hold it up in the air to see if the light passes through or not. If the light passes through and there is not a lot of visible dirt, blow it off with compresses air and put it back in. When it doesn't show light passing through it, or get a decent amount of dire that does not just blow off change it. Probably about every 30K though. When to change air filter?
oil %26amp; filter every 5 to 8k, air depends on conditions dusty etc. Inspect and if you can see light through it it's fine. When to change air filter?

Air filters vary in cost from one brand to the next ($10-$18). A shop will usually charge you extra to install the filter. You can easily do the job yourself.

I like K%26amp;N filters. They cost a bit more but they are permanent, when they get dirty, you just clean them and re-oil them. They also are less restrictive than a paper air filter. That improves performance and efficiency.

AutoAnything will sell you a K%26amp;N filter for the Tacoma for $38 with free shipping.I want to change air filter in my toyota tacoma 2000.?
