Go hit your local library and start reading some manuals. Or go buy the one for your car. Here is a better suggestion. Go take a course on car maintenance. Even if it is one for women. At least you will learn from it and save money by doing some of your own repairs.

Fish Tank air pump filter change? READ! please answer?

How do I change my 2.5 gallon tank. It's seem to be very hard to pick up and am confused. Am i suppose to bring a bucket next to it and poor it in the bucket and keep on doing it to get rid of all of the water and bacterial. And what about the gravel? there were hard to put back in the tank once you take them out all wet. Please answer my question thank you.Fish Tank air pump filter change? READ! please answer?
what you need to do is get a small gravel vac (siphon) and clear the debris out of your tank. take out about 25% of the water and if you fill the tank up with regular tap water, add some type of water conditioner or aquarium salt because of the harsh chemicals in tap water. change your tank about every 1-2 weeks depending on the debris amount.Fish Tank air pump filter change? READ! please answer?
ok from my experience there are two methods

method one is by buying a gravel vacuum and aq bucket and vacuum out the water into the bucket then taking the gravel and outing it into the same buckt, o yea dont vacuum up the fish, place them in a container with some of the tanks water.

mthod two is buy having a little cup and a bucket. first take the bucket and if its small ebough put the entire bucket and submerge it into the water, then scoop it up and most of the water will be inside the bucket now just scoop out the gravel with your hands and put it into the same bucket, now with the cup just use it and scoop out the remaining of the water in the bottom of the tank with the cup. o yea and with this method dont forget to do the thing with the fish in the container listed above.

  • 2007 Toyota Matrix Air Filter?

Hi. I own a 2007 Matrix and it has about 8,500 miles on it. How long should I go between air filter changes? The dealer tried to get me to change it when I last had the oil changed (at the 6,000 mile mark), but I didn't want to spend the $60. I recently lost my job, and don't want to change the filter unless I have to. Should I get the air filter changed soon? I live in an urban area, so I'm not driving along dusty roads. When should I get the filter changed? Thanks!2007 Toyota Matrix Air Filter?
At the least, 10,000 miles. Take it out every few thousand miles and clean it with compressed air. You could probably go 15K if you need to.

Should i pay $23 for an air filter?

I need to change the air filter. I have a Hyundai elantra 1999. which brand is good and how much should I pay. I saw in Advanced Auto Parts retail price for a FRAM brand $23 and online $14.99

Should I go to another store?Should i pay $23 for an air filter?
$23 is high. Walmart should have the same filter for less. When you go into the automotive section, you'll need to look up your vehicle in a reference book which is right with the filters. All you need to know is your Year, Make, Model, and Engine Size. Simple.Should i pay $23 for an air filter?
yea usally when you buy stuff online u end up paying even more trust meShould i pay $23 for an air filter?
Go to another store $20 should be the max for one. Or just research on that $23 one see if its worth it. I probably would cause i love my car.Should i pay $23 for an air filter?
try a checker (schucks, kragen) or an autozone - they usually have cheaper prices than ANY other store - also, if you can, print out the add you saw online, and take it into one of those two stores

checker will not only LOWER their price to match, but they will take an extra 5% off..

BUT it must be the same brand, part-number %26amp; everything!

and yeah, $23 isn't too bad for an air-filter - just remember, these new (huge) diesel pick-up trucks might have a filter worth $100? $120? and your car DEFINITELY needs it...

(just be thankful you don't need an alternator or starter for that hyndai!!)

good luck! :)Should i pay $23 for an air filter?
thats a little high, i think. i buy fram and i think all i payed is around 5 or 6 dollars, and its just as good as those high priced ones.

Can someone explain to me how to change the cabin air filter in a 2000 honda accord 2 door ex?

One of two places one is to remove the glove box, you have two small tangs at the bottom of the box squeezes them together and twist 180 remove them and the box will open. Look for a panel with a spring clip. Now not all Honda's have them back then only the EX model would have then and some LX models. If it is not there then it will be under hood back to the firewall on the passenger sideCan someone explain to me how to change the cabin air filter in a 2000 honda accord 2 door ex?

Can changing air purifer filters to better replacements = higher CADR?

I have a couple of air purifiers. I have read many reviews on how they work. My question is what exactly makes one model have a greater CADR than another? Could you possibly put a better filter in one %26amp; get better results? I'm sure its not that easy or someone would of thought of it by now. It just seem like all they do is suck in air (through filters) then blow it back out. Can changing air purifer filters to better replacements = higher CADR?

I have bmw 320i 1988 and i want to ask how to know that i need to change the fuel filter?

i have bmw 320i 6 in-line 1988 auto transmission and i want to know if i have to change the fuel filter because i smell gas near the motor and i have low horse power i change the air filter with cold air intake and change the plugs with 4 heads plugs and nothing change on the power i want to help me on this and see how could i do to fix it . and i want to know if should i to clean the injectorsI have bmw 320i 1988 and i want to ask how to know that i need to change the fuel filter?
Find %26amp; fix the leak first. raw gas %26amp; hot engine parts don't mix wellI have bmw 320i 1988 and i want to ask how to know that i need to change the fuel filter?
If you are smelling gas, you have a leak. Check around the injectors after the motor has been running and been driven. You should be able to see a visible means of the leak. I have an 87 Accord that was doing the same thing and I had 2 injector seals leaking. I would check this first. If you don't have any leaks that you see, then start checking the fuel lines and seals around the injection system. That smell is coming from somewhere. This would also account for the performance being off and I bet your mileage is down as well.I have bmw 320i 1988 and i want to ask how to know that i need to change the fuel filter?
Here is a photo of the fuel filter for the 1988 BMW 325i: http://67.129.153.73/CGv2Production/Pict

When you change the fuel filter look for leaks in the fuel lines.

You might also check the exhaust system to see if the catalytic converter or some other part is clogged. That would also cause low power.I have bmw 320i 1988 and i want to ask how to know that i need to change the fuel filter?
sounds like you have head gasket/intake manifold problem. you may need to change that before you clean the fuel injectors. The reason you have low horsepower is a vacuum leak or compression leak is developed once the gasket composition ibreaks down. There may be a pinch in the gasket which allows air to escape since it's no longer tightly sealed. you can also check for a vacuum hose that's not attached to the proper port. This is also a sign that you need a gasket. The pressure from the intake builds up,seeps out and creates a backdraft of pressure throughout the air compression system of the engine that in turn causes hoses to be 'blown off'. 98.9% chance it's the gasket because you smell fuel AND low compression/horsepower. So, get the gasket changed first then clean the injectors. That should solve the problem.

How often is it recommended to change out a cabin air filter?

Considering on how cheap they are and how high energy costs are- I would change 4 times a year if the cabin was used on a weekly basis. How often is it recommended to change out a cabin air filter?
Do you mean your cars engine air intake filter? If so it is recommended to change them anywhere from every 7000 to 25000 miles depending on your location and how much driving you do. If you have your cars owners manual it will explain when you should change the filter for your particular make and model. I change mine every 15000 or 5th oil change. When in doubt it never hurts to change it after all a car needs to breathe just as bad as we do!How often is it recommended to change out a cabin air filter?

You will need to remove the glovebox compartment and frame from the dash panel,a 10mm socket wrench and phillips screwdriver is all you need. After the glovebox has removed, you will see on the hvac housing a rectangular access panel for the filter, At the bottom of this panel is a release clip, simply put your finger on it,pull out on it slightly while pulling the access panel door down, there may also be a small know about 1/2 way up that you may have to turn a 1/2 turn if this panel separates into 2 pieces/ once the panel is removed, pull out the cabin filter and replace. If there is no filter, you still have the option to install one. Install all removed parts and your done. I may want to mention that there may be a small elastic cord on the right side of the glovebox,be carful not to break it. Hope this helps.

Furnace manufacturers say filters should be changed at least once a month.

Putting off changing the filters could result with the following problem.... If your furnace is newer they will shut down when it's lacking return air..... Well you will think something is wrong... call a service tech... he will come change your filter and hand you an expensive bill and will tell you to have a nice day.

At least check it once a month... If the thing doesn't have a bunch of crap on it it could probably go another month... But if you have pets, or burn candles(causes soot on the filter), I would change it once a month for sure.

  • How often am I supposed to change the air filters on my heat/cooling system?

Kind of hard to say, it depends on your situation; how dirty the air is in your house. Think about it, the dirtier the filter the better it removes smaller particles. I've experimented with mine and after about 10 months the current load on the blower motor approaches the high limit. And you can see the filter itself really compress in during startup due to the increased suction created by the dirty filter. Unless you want to keep a real close eye on your system I would change it every couple of months. How often am I supposed to change the air filters on my heat/cooling system?

Motorcycle - my air filter box is not completely sealed on one side will this result in loss of power?

i recently changed my air filter on my 1999 honda cbr f4 motorcycle. Can air manage to fit through the crack and cause my to lose power? how can I check this?Motorcycle - my air filter box is not completely sealed on one side will this result in loss of power?
Hi,it may loose power and if your unlucky enough it will also drag Road dirt in and may cause more damage ..Unlike the answer above me from (parrothe... ) dont take any chances (strait airflow DOES NOT mean more power).. take out the air box (a little messy ) and look why its not closing properly if its just the screw threads are gone generally a bigger screw will fix this but just in case something more silly is gone wrong %26quot;ie%26quot; the filter itself is not seated right your better off taking it out and make sure the casings are not cracked..Hope this Helps Best Regards SteveMotorcycle - my air filter box is not completely sealed on one side will this result in loss of power?
yes it will lose power...remove the cover and find out why itrs not fitting.....Motorcycle - my air filter box is not completely sealed on one side will this result in loss of power?
No, it will NOT lose power.

Suck something in, like a sand bit or dirt, it may lose an engine or rings, but opening a carburetor to not flow through the filter technically gives better flow, better flow equates to more power.

Unfiltered air equates to potential disaster.

Use a body filler puttty or JB weld or even a heavy bead of silicon and seal that puppy up.

If using silicon, make sure it's well cured before you start the motor.

In response to the disagreements below. So, air that is coming to the engine, doesn't bypass the filter via any open hole in the seal? What's the motive force pushing the air through the filter and not through the opening?

I understand if the opening is small enough, and the airflow is large enough, yes, some of the air will be filtered.

And where in the question does it say the ram air induction is cracked, not the filter to housing seal is not whole?

And most importantly and to the question - Generally speaking, more air is needed for more flow for more power. Yes, there are exceptions to this, but USUALLY, you don't lose HP when you increase flow. Hence, we keep buying K%26amp;N air filters (They flow significantly better than standard OEM filters!)

I stand by my answer. GR Jim's point is more accurate, only if the filter surfaces are still sealed when the cover is in place. That's not how the question is posed.Motorcycle - my air filter box is not completely sealed on one side will this result in loss of power?
A non sealing air box cover on that bike will not hurt the engine.

Air still has to go through the air filter before getting to the engine.

But there may be a slight decrease in engine performance (probably not noticeable unless you push the bike to it's limits every time you ride it).

With a leaking air box cover, the ram air system will slightly be inhibited.

If you don't notice a difference, I wouldn't be overly concerned about it.

If you're going to lose sleep over it - repair it, replace it, or close the opening with a piece of duct tape.

Honda civic lx 07, how do i change the engine air filter?

so i went to the honda dealership for an oil change and the dude said i need to change the engine air filter or something of the like, well he wanted an arm and leg can i do this my self?Honda civic lx 07, how do i change the engine air filter?
Yes the air filter is located in the plastic box on top of the engine or next to it. It's held together with clips or 8mm head bolts. If it has bolts you'll need an 8mm, or 5/16 inch (same thing) nut driver. Open it up, swap the new filter in and close it.

You should also check the cabin air filter. It's located behind the glove box. Open it, theres stops on both sides you press in to release it and let it hang down. Then youll see a horizontal rectangular door, the cabin air filter is in there. Open it up if the filter is full of nasty crap replace it, needless to say.

How do you change the cabin air filter in a 2002 VW Beetle Sport.?

I know it can be done I have a new filter for it I bought at the store. but I am not exactly sure where it is located inside my car and I do not want to tear the whole dash apart to find it. first remove the centre panel on top of the dash by pushing it forward .

next remove the left panel that's held in place by 3 torx screws, once you have done that there is another panel held together by what seems to be 3 trillion screws, you will probably fall asleep getting them out, when all the screws are out you will need to be careful to remove the panel it can get tricky.and finally you have reached your destination, there you will find the pollen filter which by now you will be convinced its laughing at you. hope this helps

How do you change the cabin air filter in a 2002 VW Beetle Sport.?
In the center of the dash, above the radio, there is a piece that slides forwards. Once you push that towards the windshield, it will come out. Under that piece you will see three T25 torx screws with these crazy spring washers. Take those out and you will be able to lift the right side of the dash out, sometimes having to unplug a speaker. Under the right side piece that you just removed there is a final piece that is held down with 5 or 6 more T25 torx screws. Pull that piece out and you will be looking at the fresh air filter.

Somewhere around the top of the engine is a black box, undo the clips or unscrew the screws and in there is the air filter.

Usually with injection cars its a box and will have a large black rubber pipe leading out of it into the head/rocker. non injection cars have a round one plonked on the top of the engine unit.

It will be probably towards the front right, or if you are standing infront of the bonnet, it will be near your right leg!

good luck and remember, its a box with rubber pipes leading out of it!

How do I change an air filter in my car?

Why do you need to do it yourself?

I ask because, with something like this, unless you already have tools, knowledge, and an inclination to do the work, it's well worth having a pro do it.

Unless you already have tools, it's going to be cheaper (even though you can use the tools again and again) to just take it to a garage to do it.

But, if there's a good reason you need to do it yourself (e.g., you have a bet with someone that you can do it; it's a homework assignment), then by all means go for it.

OK first pull the intake tubes off, pull the very front of the air cleaner up and off, Now pull the very front of the air cleaner up, it might be tight use a little force, you will hear it pop, now with the front of the air cleaner up slightly pull the entire air cleaner forward off the rubber mounts that it sits on, (very important you should look how it sits before taking it off cause it must go back on the very same way). to undo the clips on the back that you are talking about , turn the air cleaner upside down now you can undo the clips. How do I change the air filter in a 1996 S420?

  • How do I change the air filter on my 2002 Grand Am GT?

I went to have my oil changed the other day and got suckered into buying a few new parts for the car (or at least the ones that sounded important). The man came back in to show me my air filter and asked if I'd like a new one, to which I said no. I figured I could save some money by going and getting my own, which I did. My new air filter is in the trunk of my car instead of the engine, because I don't know where to put it! I opened up the hood and saw a box which I figure it's in somewhere, but I'm not certain on how to get it open, and I don't want to break anything. HELP!How do I change the air filter on my 2002 Grand Am GT?
That's correct. You did save money because they would of charged you labor. Anyways, that box that you think is where the filter goes is probably correct. there's no other black box under the hood, unless it's a battery cover, in which you'd figure that out once you took the cover off, that's if it even had a cover over the battery. But anways, that box will have some sort of snaps on the sides. More than liky 3-4 of them. You're going to have to open those, but just pushing them down. Sometimes it can be closed with screws. but I'm going to put money on it that there's just those hooks that you'll just pop off, and than lift up and you'll see your old filter under it, pull that one out, and replace the new one.How do I change the air filter on my 2002 Grand Am GT?
mam i can assure this is the simplest thing to do on ure car, u wont brake anything......first off ure on the right track if u find a large big rubber hose leading into what looks like a black plastic box...of course inside lies the air filter, now u might require a simple tool as a flat head screw driver to unlock the top of this plastic box by the way there should only be 2 to 4screws holding in place....or might be something simple as 4 clip on locks....thats about it, make sure if u accomplish this to put everything back in place the same way.....woalllaaa u did it.....

Will not changing your home air filter damage things?

I haven't changed my air filter inside the house in quite some time. The one that connects to your heater and ac. Aside from the dust, will it actually damage the system in anyway? If so how will it do that? Thanks. Will not changing your home air filter damage things?
Dust particles can damage the air movement equipment by causing undue wear. Wear means that the unit will run less efficiently, thus causing you more money in both heating/cooling costs AND repair /maintenance. Like a car running uphill, the unit will use more energy to do what it should do more easily.

Filters are cheap. Replacing them monthly is less than a couple cups of coffee. (We just bought extra high grade filters at Home Depot and spent 9.95 for 3 of them. )Will not changing your home air filter damage things?
It will damage the motor by clogging up vital motor parts with dust and hair and other crud. We have cats and a cold air return in the floor of a hallway. We DO clean our filter downstairs at least once a month, but that wasn't even enough. We paid about $100 extra for our service last year to have the technician clean out the stuff that still got through and was collected around the motor. We added a hand-cut filter to the cold air return, and our filter downstairs stays much cleaner. You need to maintain your filter.

It also costs you much more to try and heat or cool with the efficiency blocked by a clogged filter.

Your house will stay cleaner, too, if you maintain your filter. You will recycle less dust and fewer allergens if you don't leave them to be recycled endlessly back into your house through a dirty heating + cooling system. Will not changing your home air filter damage things?
it will prevent proper circulation for the cold or heat for one, and it could damage the system because you are blocking it ,and it might cost you more then replacing a filter or washing it ,if you have one of those permanent ones installed.

By rule of thumb, they should be changed once a month , depending on where you live , in regard of dust and other air born particles, or if you had renovations done to the house, begin by vacuuming all the vents this is a plus in keeping your filter clean as well. Will not changing your home air filter damage things?
HVAC Tech.: The only thing worse than running with an OLD filter is to run with no filter at all. Any thing that slows the air flow causes the blower to work harder, using more electric for what you pay. The damage occurs when dirt, germs collect on the evaporator coil. Blocking the air flow so that air can no longer give up heat to the coil. This can cause coil to freeze over and allow liquid refrigerant to go back to the compressor and destroy the compressor. Will not changing your home air filter damage things?
not changing the filters will make your bills go even higher than they already are. The dust build up blocks the flow of the air and slows down the compressor in the A/C. Leanred the hard way, change them regularly 1-2 months with a high quality air filter. Will not changing your home air filter damage things?
It will restrict air flow, sooner or later cause your evap.to freeze up,burn your fan motor out[lack of air flow],wash the valves out in the compressor and cost you more money to run your system every day till it breaks down. Will not changing your home air filter damage things?
yes it will cause the rotation of the fan to turn the opposite way. and it will make it pull air instead of push it.

How do I change the air filer in a Citroen Saxo diesel?

I have a citroen saxo diesel and want to change the air filter as I never got round to it last year when the oil was done. Normally I'm pretty good at this sort of stuff but on this occasion I can;t for the life of me find where the air filter box is. Would be grateful if someone could tell me where it is and how to open it up to swap the filter over.

ThanksHow do I change the air filer in a Citroen Saxo diesel?
Follow the inlet air piping from the cylinder head (on the engine block) back away from the engine. 4 individual pipes will converge into a manifold. Keep going and the manifold will lead to the air filter. Usually 6*12 inches (ish!) with the 2 halves held together with either screws or clips for easy removal. Do you have the new filter to hand? See if there are any plastic parts that would contain something of those dimensions.

I don't actually know Saxos, but hope this helps :-)

it will impact your fuel efficiency as a clogged air filter will effect the amount of air going through the intake and possible changing the air/fuel ratio.

If you take it out and it looks cruddy... replace it. They arent very expensive, but damaging your fuel system and decreasing your fuel efficiency isn't worth it. Plus, they are relatively easy to change yourself. Don't avoid it.How do i know if it is time to change my air filter and what happens if i dont?
C'mon!!!!!! You don't have to be a rocket scientist to figure it out!

can cause excessive fuel usage and may effect your air flow sensorHow do i know if it is time to change my air filter and what happens if i dont?
no it won't cause your car to turn off but you will start having some problems with it. You should change the filter with your oil or you could upgrade it get the kind that doesn't need to be changed but just cleaned, they cost a little more but in the long run they are sooo worth it because you don't have to keep buying a new one and they improve horsepower and gas mileage. How do i know if it is time to change my air filter and what happens if i dont?
Definitely change it at least once a year. Getting less air will cause many cars to 'burn rich'...you would see blacker, sootier smoke sometimes and definitly use more gas than you need to. Hold your hand close to the end of the tail-pipe while it is running and then smell your palm. If you smell raw, unburnt gasoline, a tune-up (including a fresh air-filter) will increase your milage. If your car is turning off a tune-up might be a good first step for you to get it in order. How do i know if it is time to change my air filter and what happens if i dont?
from personal experience, change air filter every time you change your oil, or at least every other time. when you put in a new air filter in your car or truck, look at the color of the element. it will be bright white, after changing your oil inspect it if it look dingy or black it is time to change. if you drive in dusty conditions you will have to change more often. now as for what happens if you don't change, you will lose fuel economy and your engine will work harder to bring in more air to run. i hope this helps. How do i know if it is time to change my air filter and what happens if i dont?
yes,and the enging will suck dirt up into your injectors, and you dont want to have to replace them.

How ofter should i change the air filter for the house?

HOW OFTEN TO CHANGE? WHERE TO GET IT? WHICH ARE BEST?How ofter should i change the air filter for the house?
change the air filter every month. It improves the heating and cooling efficiency. Cleans the air you breath and cuts down on heating and cooling bills. Get the measurements off the old one (example 20x21) take it to Home Depot or Lowes and they will tell you what kind to use. Happy BreathingHow ofter should i change the air filter for the house?
It typically should be changed each season, each filter is different, though, some are rated for 6 months, some for a year. Go to www.walmart.com, www.lowes.com, or www.sears.com to shop, I bought mine at sears. How ofter should i change the air filter for the house?
I believe you should change it every 30-90 days depending on how dusty you're place is. They sell them everywhere, but the most convient would be a place like WalMart. And as far as quality I would figure you could read them at the store and see what air filtration features you would like. You can get one for less than 2 dollars but %26quot;the best%26quot; could be around 7-10 dollars. How ofter should i change the air filter for the house?
Every 1 to 3 months depending on the quality of the filter you use and the environment you're in. You'll need to change it more often if you have a lot of dust and dirt in the air, pollen, that sort of thing.

If it was that gross, you're clearly not changing it very often. Really, seasonal is a minimum amount. How ofter should i change the air filter for the house?
When I had my home inspection the inspector advised monthly. Worth a few extra dollars a month to breathe better, also with pets or allergies, its worth the money. Check the manufacturer for their suggested filters. How ofter should i change the air filter for the house?
Every month! They sell a filter you can wash and re-use now. It cost a little more in the beginning but definatly saves money and it works just as well as the others. Good luck. Don't forget.. ceiling fans act like filters as well and collect dust and it just floats around if you dont wipe them down all the time. How ofter should i change the air filter for the house?
the heating service guy said once a month in the winter i still do it once a month every month. i get the filters that you can wash. they are so nice .How ofter should i change the air filter for the house?
Check it at least once a month, during winter, to see if it needs changed, then take down notes as to when you should have it changed. Summer months shouldn't be so bad. Unless you have central air conditioning. I live in southern California, so I only change mine every 6 months, or when I notice my allergies acting up. If you have problems with allergies in the home, you can find hepa-filters almost anywhere. That would help even more. How ofter should i change the air filter for the house?
Definitely once a month year round. I worked in the hospitality industry for several years and for the cleanest air and most energy efficiency you need to change them monthly. Your electric bill will make you happier if you do this. And they are very cheap! Purchasing them at discount stores you can usually get 3 to 4 in a pack for under $3.00.

  • How often should the car air filter be replaced?

I have an honest mechanic who told me today that I don't have to follow my car's factory maintenance schedule to change the air filter. I use this car only for commute for 20 miles round trip daily on weekdays. Wondering how often should I replace the air filter in your opinion. Thanks. How often should the car air filter be replaced?
whenever it gets dirty, think of it just like any air filter. you pull it out and if its white and clean, with not too much debris stuck in it, then its still clean, but once your white filter becomes black, and you have large stuff stuck in it like pieces of leaves and dirt and bugs, then its time to clean it. what i recommend is a K%26amp;N filter, its a replacement which instead of being made of paper, its cotton with oil, so when it gets dirty and clogged you just clean it instead of replacing it, it pays for itself in a year. im not endorsing the product or anything just letting you know about something you should look into. How often should the car air filter be replaced?
Well it really depends on where you drive. If it's dusty or your driving through a construction area It might be quite often.

I once had a friend pull up in his daughters Saturn. He was quite angry as the car was barely running had poor power and gas mileage. I told him it was his air filter(he didn't believe me). I removed it to show him and he said %26quot;it doesn't look that dirty%26quot; I then cut it in half to show that it was indeed clogged with dirt in the center of the filter media. Some late model cars (like the Saturn) have very restrictive airflow. After replacing the filter he pulled out of the parking lot and chirped the tires!

I would recommend a K%26amp;N replacement drop in filter or if you want a K%26amp;N cold air intake system.

For about $40.00 (most cars) you will get a much better filter that can be cleaned instead of replaced(my K%26amp;N is 6 years old and still works great) a cleaning kit is $20.00 and lasts a for a long long time. You'll also see a modest improvement in performance and gas mileage. How often should the car air filter be replaced?

one is supposed to change the air filter every so many miles. therefore, this depends on your date of purchase of filter... or how much your drive, and where! (desert, woods, humid..etc). if you don't change the filter, your engine will not breath well and it will run poorly...loooong time use of 1 bad filter will cause unnoticable damage. i change mine every year...or with my tune ups, or when i have the money and i feel like it.How do i know if it is time to change my air filter and what happens if i dont?
